[The Derbyshire & Derby City Literacy Initiative] in September 2000 to develop a writing strategy that would convince boys that writing could be fun. After much research and a programme of trials in local schools, Ian put together 'Push on Writing!'. POW! is a withdrawal group strategy designed for T.A.s working with reluctant writers in Years 4 - 7. Teachers in many schools liked the ideas in POW! and asked Ian to develop it into a whole-school approach to writing. So 'All Write Now!' was born. Ian has taken advice from Ros Wilson and AWN! combines teaching 'secretarial' skills and lots of motivational strategies. Author of: Push on Writing! and All Write Now! Ian has worked with: children of all ages thousands of teachers and T.A.s on improving skills in teaching reading and writing thousands of parent/carer school volunteers thousands of parents on supporting their own children with speaking, listening, reading, writing and basic numeracy Ian has been a consultant to Atom Partners' MyLO project from the earliest days. <<<<<   BACK
