The Concept
20 contestants enter the secure location, with the sole purpose of breaking-out to win a share of £1m.
Running over an 8-week period, the contestants will be fed information (by the voting public), on different ways that they can make their escape. This is the ultimate popularity contest. If the UK public likes a person, they will feed useful information to the Contestants. On the flip side, if the public do not take to, or trust a Contestant, then they will be fed information that will sabotage their escape.
Each night, a piece of information will be revealed to the public, then the public votes for which Contestant should receive it. The Contestant that is given the information can either then keep it to themselves, or share it with all or some of the other Contestants.
Some Contestants will also win prison visits from family and friends, who could also be working with them to escape.
The Contestants need to use their time in the Prison to get to know the other contestants, with a view to choosing their allies, or going it alone.
The Contestants will be worked hard for food, completing a series of physical and metal agility tests. They can choose to share the food they win with others, if they wish.
The longer a Contestant stays in, the weaker they will get and the chance of them escaping will diminish.
Suggestion: There should be a fixed number of methods of escape and Contestants can choose their allies, with which to escape. But hey need to be careful, as 4 amongst them are not who they say they are, but maybe they are not all there to trip them up!
Once on the outside they have 1 hour to go to ground. After that, they need to stay out of the public eye until the location of the £1m is revealed, when they can rendezvous at the given location and win either £1m of a share of the £1m.

Friend or Foe!
For every person that spots one of the Breakout LIVE Contestants there is either a cash prize, or a bribe/partial share of the final prize money. To prove they have seen the Contestant, they need to have a photograph taken with them, with a newspaper from that day. They then have to upload the picture to the Breakout LIVE Website and select the 'Foe' option to instantly win £1000 and reveal the location of the Contestant. During this time, the Contestant either moves to a new secure location, or hands themselves back in. They will be returned to the Prison, in to solitary confinement (for the first 3 days) and will have the chance to Breakout LIVE again, once they are returned to the prison!
The Contestants have the chance to bribe the members of public that assist them (by not reporting their location). In this instance, the Member of Public will upload the picture to the website as and select the Friend option. If they select the friend option, they then stand a chance of winning a share of the £1m prize, if their contestant is the first to the prize on the final night.
There should be a rule built in to state that once a person has been spotted and they have received 10 'Foe' uploads, they then have to return to the prison.
Suggestion: The Website should give graphical update of the status of each of the Contestants. If they have escaped, the website should display how many 'Friend' and 'Foe' pictures have been uploaded for each Contestant.

Newspaper Sponsorship and Updates
There is a big opportunity to get one of the main UK newspapers involved in the sponsorship of Breakout LIVE, members of the public will need to prove the sighting, by using a copy of that days nominated Newspaper within the photograph. People who would not normally buy a newspaper may choose to carry one, on the off-chance of bumping in to one of the Breakout LIVE Contestants.
The Final Night - 3 hours to claim the £1m Prize
If the member of public does not have a copy of the nominated Newspaper, they will have to get one quickly, before the Contestant moves
On the final night, the location of the £1m will be given LIVE to the UK Public. The Contestants will then all be given immunity and can then break-cover, in a bid to get to the prize first. Have they bribed to correct people - who can actually assist them in getting to the prize on time?
Choosing a location in the UK will be crucial, and clues will be given throughout the 8-week period. There should be a nominated safe-zone, with none of the Contestants being allowed to compete for the money, unless they are within a 100 mile radius (for safety reasons), when the location is announced.
When the location is announced, each remaining contestant will divulge their location and will turn on their personal tracking device.
If none of the contestants make it to the rendezvous point at the given time, the remaining Contestants left in the prison, plus the guards will share the £1m.
Types of Contestants: Acrobats, Contortionists, Stunt People, Ex-Military, Survival Experts, Masters of Disguise, Athletes, Hypnotists, etc. All people with special skills, so the UK public can choose to give certain pieces of information to certain Contestants, i.e. There may be one method of escape that will only be open to one of the Contestants, due to their particular special ability.
